EXCURSION GREECE
In this comprehensive trip different locations will pass the revue where a long time ago the Apostle Paulus used to preached, important archaeological sites will be visited and there is a relaxing cruise. The TripThe group arrives at the airport of Thessaloniki and will travel eastward to Kavala for their first overnight. The next day a local guide will lead the group through Kavala and to the archaeological site of Philippi, both connected to the Apostle Paulus. In the early morning the journey continues via Delphi to Athens. Of course in Delphi the group will be guided over the site of Delphi and explained about the Oracle and the importance of the town in Ancient Greece. In the evening is the first meeting with Athens. The next day will be spent at sea. A day cruise to the islands Egina, Poros and Hydra will take everyone’s breath away. After this relaxing day the groups departs again by bus to the Peloponnesus. After a short stop to visit the Canal of Corinth, the coastal road takes the group to Epidavros. In this famous theatre performances still take place each summer by famous artists without any sound system. This is possible because the acoustics are that good that even the persons on the last and highest row can clearly here what has been said! Also the romantic town of Nafplion will be visited. Here people can relax on one of the many terraces on the boulevard or walk through the small alleys of the city. The night can be arranged in a hotel in Nafplion or in the nearby village Tolo. At the end of the trip the group will go back to Athens via Mycenae. This archaeological site is known for the big Lion Gate and the grave of Agamemnon. In Athens there is time to shop for the last souvenirs in the old and cosy city centre, Plaka before travelling home the next day.

VeroiaVeroia (or Berea) is known because the Apostle Paul along with Silas preached here in 49-52 A.D after leaving Thessaloniki (Salonika). He preached in the synagogue of the Jewish Community.
According to the Book of Acts, Paul and Silas found the inhabitants of Veroia in contrast with the Jews of Thessaloniki, with “all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so … and many of them believed.” Members of the so-called Berean Church put great emphasis on the study of scriptures. |
